Food Security and Livelihood (FSL)

Food security is when all people have physical and economic access at all times to buy, produce, obtain or consume sufficient, safe and nutritious food to meet their dietary needs and food preferences for a healthy and active life

The cluster aims to prevent famine and build households’ coping capacities by providing life-sustaining and life-saving food, livelihoods and livestock assistance, increasing food production, and building productive assets for more sustainable livelihoods. While unconditional food will be provided in areas at highest risk of famine, the cluster will in general shift towards transitional food and cash assistance, with the aim of supporting households’ and communities’ self-reliance and restoring community assets.
