About Us

Eye the Children is a non-governmental organization that works for the future of children, their families, and communities to end poverty and advance dignity for all. Eye the Children was founded in April 2016, and registered with the Government of South Sudan's Relief and Rehabilitation Commission [RRC] as a "National Organization" in accordance with the Non- Governmental Organization Act, 2016 under section 4 (a) to (i) laws of South Sudan.

Eye the Children is a member of South Sudanese National NGOs forum.

Through valued partnerships, Eye the Children work with children, communities and governments across the country and we believe in the right person for the job regardless of religion, race, ethnicity, gender or where you come from and how you identify yourself.

Therefore, Eye the Children is an organisation that strives to share ideas and a resource commensurate to societal development needs of South Sudanese people. In all endeavors, Eye the Children will provide equal opportunities to disadvantaged groups in her areas of operation.

Eye the Children's focus is on meeting the unfulfilled needs and rights of the most marginalised and vulnerable children. We adhere to a set of principles that ensure our work is done in a manner and to a standard of which we can be proud. Eye the Children is guided by the following core values:

OUR OBJECTIVES:

Our strategic objectives are:
  • To provide a happy, safe, and warm environment where all children and their families feel welcome
  • To offer children opportunities to develop, learn, play, and build/strengthen resiliency after an emergency or crisis, or during a protracted emergency. 

  • Implementation of the rights (and responsibilities) of children; as well as legislation concerning children, in order to ensure our children are adequately protected.
  • To create awareness on the rights of the children and youth particularly as set out in the UN convention on the Rights of the Child and the African Charter on the Rights and Welfare of the Child.
  • To provide humanitarian assistance as a results of natural or man-made disasters
  • To create positive change for children through community engagement
  • No discrimination in terms of race, gender, beliefs, language, culture, marital status, income or disability, with respect to our admission policy.
  • To promote the welfare of vulnerable & neglected kids.
  • To undertake advocacy in the best interest of children.
  • To work with Boys, Girls, Women and Men everywhere to advance the regional children’s Voice.
  • To work with the government and communities to ensure that every child can succeed in education.
  • To provide protection to the vulnerable members of the community, especially women and children and advocate and raise awareness on the negative impact of Gender Based Violence [GBV]
  • To improve and raise awareness on the importance of clean environment through water hygiene and sanitation activities.
  • To promote and strengthen effective engagement of community members in peace building, human rights and child protection
  • To involve community members in livelihood activities, economical and agricultural projects.
